The Northern New Jersey Square Dance Association, of which Times Squares is a member, has finalized their plans for the 41st Annual Mini-Fest. Dancing will be on November 8th from 1:00-6:30 PM at Parsippany High School in Parsippany New Jersey, which is less then an hour’s drive from PS3. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door.

The caller lineup this year is very strong. Jet Roberts, who called for Peel the Pumpkin in 2013, will be featured. Another Californian, Pat Carnathan, who wowed the crowd at the National Convention in Springfield, MA last June will also call. Neither of these callers travels to our region often, so this is a good opportunity to dance to them. Rounding out the caller list is Jeremy Butler, who is a well-known regional caller from Virginia. There will be three full time halls: Mainstream, Plus and Advanced. So no matter what level you dance, you can dance nonstop all afternoon.

If you’d like to attend, please let me know and I’ll get a discounted ticket to you and we can arrange a carpool if necessary. New Jersey Transit offers frequent train service and the organizers have graciously offered to pick any of us up from the nearest train station.

If you’d like more information you can go to the NNJSDA website, www.nnjsda.org, and click on “Mini Festival” in the red box at the center of the page or email minifestival.info@nnjsda.org. I hope to see you on the dance floor!
