Hello, friends and fellow dancers!
Another Peel The Pumpkin (PTP2024) has come and gone and it is now part of our proud square dance history. From all the laughter, happiness and smiles, we can assume PTP2024 was a huge success! Not only did the event mark the beginnings of our club in 1984, but it served as a reminder that literally hundreds of square dancers have proudly donned a Times Squares club badge. Everyone we spoke to said they were having loads of fun and were very happy with all the aspects of the dance. Our spectacular callers Betsy Gotta, Ted Lizotte, Chris Phillips, and Howard Richman were a big hit! We would like to thank them for their creativity and stalwart dedication to square dancing. They made the event so much fun! And the 40RWARD & BACK theme provided some very interesting costume parade choices! Everyone really got into the spirit.
We would also like to thank the PTP2024 Committee: Barbara Lesko , Daniel Savitt, Dom Ponsades, Gabriel Rivas, Howard Handler, Jim Babcock, J. Paine, Kim Norland, Larry Caputo, Michael Coan, Norman Laurila, Paul Sheftman, Ray Emrich, Rick Massi, Susan Gill, and Thomas Alamo who kept things running smoothly.
A huge thank you to George Santos who donated items for the basket raffle. They were wonderful. Thank you Cindy & Jonathan Uejio for providing such excellent wines. Thank you Ken Herskovits & Kevin Mahoney for allowing us to use their Jersey City Airbnb. And thank you to everyone else (too numerous to mention) who stepped up to the plate and volunteered in so many ways to make this fly in a success, we offer our heartfelt gratitude. We literally couldn’t have done it without you.
A special mention goes to Jim for his spectacular visual retrospective of our club’s history. We know our legacy is safe while it’s in Jim’s hands.
We were also thrilled to offer our special dance at the Green FigRestaurant at the Yotel. A new endeavor for us, but one we hope will spur ideas for future special dance venues.
Last but not least, thank you to all those who attended. If not for you, there would be no dance.
Hope to see you all on the dance floor again!
Happy birthday, Times Squares! Is it too soon to start preparing for our 50th…?
Yellow Rock,
The Peel the Pumpkin 2024 Committee
