Mainstream square dance classes start Tuesday August 4, 2026
Square dancing is a form of social dancing going back centuries, but is still a fun and enjoyable activity for modern times. Some of our members have been square dancing in New York City since 1984 when the club was founded.
In thirteen weeks, you’ll be introduced to nearly 70 calls, or choreographed movements, that makeup the Mainstream program. When you graduate, you will be able to dance with any square dance club around the world – calls are given English no matter where you dance, whether in Tokyo, Berlin, or Montreal. Besides being a physical activity, it is stimulates your mind as you focus on listening and moving to the beat of the music.
Classes will be held weekly on Tuesdays from August 4 -October 27 6:30 – 9:00 pm. Tuition is $150, and includes a club membership and badge upon completion.
